St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway welcomes its first birth of 2019: Baby boy Thorsen.

At four minutes past midnight on Jan. 2, Baby boy Thorsen was the first baby born at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway. He weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 20 inches long. His parents are Sean and Eun-Chung (EJ ) Thorsen of Rockaway Park.
“Each year St. John’s eagerly awaits the first baby of the New Year,” said Renee Hastick-Motes, the hospital’s vice president of external affairs. “It is a joyful and special moment for everyone. Baby Boy Thorsen and his parents will be presented with an overwhelming array of baby items in the next couple of days.”
