Sisterhood gets arty in Cedarhurst

Posted

The Sisterhood of Temple Beth El of Cedarhurst held a Wine & Design Paint Night earlier in the month led by artist and teacher, Joan Bleyer Lazarus, who demonstrated techniques and then provided a sample of a painting each participant painted with their own interpretation. No two paintings ended up looking alike and everyone had a wonderful experience whether a novice or experienced painter.

Lazarus learned her craft the atelier way — seeking out artists who could teach her what she needed to learn. She has shown her artwork in many exhibitions, most notably several consecutive years at the Heckscher Annual Juried Exhibition in the 1990s.  Most recently, she has curated and exhibited in group shows of the Eclectic Collective.  Her art includes both realism and conceptualism.
