Five members of the Peninsula Kiwanis Club — Frank Basile, Kiwanis President Kevin Cooney, Don Esopa, Michael Gliner and Ron Marciano — made their annual pre-Christmas pilgrimage to the Five Towns Early Learning Center in Inwood on Dec. 10.
Cooney sat in a chair read the holiday poem “Twas Night Before Christmas,” also known as “A Visit from St. Nicholas.” Originally published anonymously in 1823, it was later attributed to Clement Clarke Moore, who claimed credit 14 years later. The Kiwanis members then distributed gifts to the children.
