Man shot in North Lawrence

Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred at the intersection of Lawrence Avenue and Pearl Street in North Lawrence at 5:14 p.m. on June 28, according to Nassau County police.

A man was found with an apparent gunshot to his lower right leg, police said. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department members and Nassau County police responded to a report of a shooting victim at 286 Lawrence Ave., LCFD Chief James McHugh said. “LFCD transported one stable gunshot victim to Jamaica Hospital in Queens,” he said.

It was initially reported that the police found a second person shot close by, however the police did not confirm that. The investigation is continuing.
