Lawrence High School welcomes back its students, carefully

Lawrence High School administrators collected health forms and checked in students as vehicles rolled past the front of the building on the first day of in-person instruction on Sept. 8.

Principal Jennifer Lagnado-Papp, Assistant Principals John Ballantyne and Kathleen Stanley and Director of Health, PE & Athletics Christian Paulino assisted parents and directed students to head to their first period class.

Lagnado-Papp said that 70 percent of the student body choose in-person learning as their primary mode of education for roughly the first half of the new school year as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

The students, divided alphabetically into cohorts, rotate between in-person and remote learning using Google Classroom. Live streaming of classes gets under way Sept. 21.
