Hewlett High seniors are semifinalists

Woodmere residents and twin siblings, Jonny Miller and Rachel Miller, were named semifinalists for the  2020 Coca-Cola Scholars Program. The Millers were chosen from more than 93,000 applicants based on their outstanding leadership, academics, and dedication to their community.

There are nearly 2,000 semifinalists whose applications will be whittled to 250 regional finalists. Notifications of the committee’s decision will be delivered by late January. The regional finalists then take part in interviews either in person or via web conference, as the 150 Coca-Cola scholars are selected. The interviews will take place in mid- to late February, depending on the location of the regional finalists. Coca-Cola Scholars must attend Scholars Weekend in Atlanta April 16 to 9, to receive the $20,000 Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship.
