Gov. Cuomo reports single-deadliest 24 hours of Covid-19 pandemic

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said at his daily briefing Tuesday that New York state health officials reported the single largest increase in deaths in the last 24 hours. Cuomo said 731 people died since Monday, brining the total number of deaths in the state to 5,489.

"New York is still the most heavily impacted in the nation," the governor said.

In all, 500 people have died of the disease in Nassau, County Executive Laura Curran said Tuesday afternoon.
