Five Towns sights and signs of the times

Posted

From Inwood to Hewlett and all around the Five Towns the sights and signs are quite different now compared to three weeks ago, as the coronavirus pandemic, the outbreak of what is called COVID-19, has altered life as we knew it before last month began.

From Inwood Park, where there is no playing allowed on the athletic field, the basketball courts and the hockey rink, to a very empty Central Avenue in Cedarhurst hours before Shabbat to an unusually vacant parking lot for the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library, it is like we are starring in our own science fiction movie.

The consequences are harmful as people have died, the economy continues to take a hit and many people are trying to find their way through working out of the office and having their children home learning remotely.
