Five Towns coronavirus cases reaches 724

The number of positive Covid-19 cases in the Five Towns is steadily increasing.

According to an April 9 update Nassau County's website, there are currently 724 cases in the area. 

The numbers increased to 299 in Woodmere, 140 in Lawrence, 105 in Inwood, 93 in Cedarhurst and 87 in Hewlett. 

The increase is nearly doubled from the the number of cases reported on March 25, which was 392.

In an April 8 update, Lawrence-based Achiezer reminded residents to maintain social distancing when out in public.

"We wish to remind you that, we must continue to strictly adhere to the rules of quarantine and isolation," they said. "Even after leaving quarantine, it is essential that we maintain strict social distancing."
