Five Towners obtain perfect scores, receive degrees and are named to the dean’s list

Hewlett High School senior Brianna Kovit received a special commendation from the College Board for her paper in Advanced Placement Research that she completed last year.  Kovit was one of 100 students from the pool of 10, 216 students to have achieved not only a 5, but also the perfect score in every category.

Alec Krueger and Ryan Moreida, both Hewlett residents, were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Lehigh University. The status is given to students who have earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or above, while attending at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.

More than 850 bachelor’s and associate’s degree were presented at the University of Scranton’s undergraduate commencement at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. on May 26

Inwood resident Louis Jan earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and Hewlett resident Michael Vaynshteyn obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

Scott Minchenberg, from Hewlett, graduated from SUNY Upstate Medical School with an medical doctoral degree on May 5.

Woodmere residents Peri Zundell graduating from Stern College for Women and Liam Eliach graduating from Yeshiva University for Men were named valedictorian at Yeshiva University’s undergraduate schools. They received their degrees at the annual 88th commencement in the theatre at Madison Square Garden on May 30.

“I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to attend Stern College and benefit from all it has to offer,” Peri Zundell said in a news release. “This is really an amazing place for a pre-med student. Not only are the courses through, but the opportunities for research, publications and extracurricular are expansive.”
