Collaborative drive collects over 1,600 pounds of food

State Assemblywoman Melissa “Missy” Miller (R–Atlantic Beach) partnered with King Kullen and Long Island Cares Inc., and the annual Summer Food Drive to End Hunger held on July 7 collected 1,626 pounds of food, during the eight-hour event.

“I am so excited about the amazing results from our annual summer food drive,” Miller stated in a news release. “Thanks to all the generous donations, we are able to take the next step in ensuring that food security is a reality for all families in our community. I want to thank everyone who so kindly donated to this important cause of ending hunger. I especially want to thank King Kullen and Long Island Cares for their partnership in this event. I am proud of the results of our food drive and I will continue to work to make sure no one in our community goes hungry.”

Miller represents the 20th District, which includes Atlantic Beach, Cedarhurst, East Rockaway, Hewlett, Inwood, Island Park, Lawrence, Lido Beach, Long Beach, Oceanside, Point Lookout and Woodmere.
