Based on the stellar reputation of its founder, Izabela Saboski, Colour Bar Hair has served Rockville Centre for six years. While the salon specializes in hair color, it offers design haircuts, extensions, straightening, bridal couture, plus ammonia-free treatments and products. Not only is the setting luxurious, but also customers are pampered, European style. CBH is a L’Oréal Professional flagship salon, home to Keratase and Shu Uemura.

Nearly 30 years ago, Izabela Saboski left her home in Poland and arrived in New York, bringing only one suitcase, a natural talent for hair design and color, and a wealth of industry knowledge from experience working and training in Paris, France. Through the years, she managed renowned Manhattan salons, and in 2012 was named, “Queen of Color” in the industry. Her credits include providing services for “Maury” the television talk show hosted by Maury Povich, “Live With Regis and Kathie Lee,” “Good Morning America,” New York Fashion Week, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, CNN, and creating color images for numerous celebrities. She currently teaches at the L’Oréal Academy, and is still a go-to colorist for celebrities.
Saboski’s dream was to own a salon. For many reasons, she chose Rockville Centre —both to reside and open her salon — and she quickly grew to love the town. The team at CBH finds ways to give back to the community, supporting local charities, fundraisers and schools.
From the first time entering Colour Bar Hair, you’ll feel special. Among the basic information taken for their computer, you’ll be asked for personal preferences —beverages, favorite magazines. You’ll be offered a protective plastic bag for your belongings. An option is their diagnostic camera, which looks into your hair’s health, and you can view it, magnified, on a tablet. Customized treatments can be mixed to improve your hair’s strength, moisture, volume, etc. While sitting at the Color Bar, you’ll be offered a beverage such as tea, cappuccino, espresso or even champagne.
Tourmaline water purifiers are used, even for hair washing. LED lighting lets you see the truest tones, as they’d appear both inside and outside. They feature INOA — odorless, oil-based and ammonia-free permanent hair color. Some of the techniques offered are Balayage, Ombre and GEO Color. After your coloring and/or haircut, you’ll be seated at the Dry Bar, where blow dryers hang from the ceiling. And, CBH sells its own brand of medical-grade anti-aging skin care products.
