New York District Kiwanis Circle K presented Lynbrook EMTS with a pediatric trauma kit on Jan. 5.

The kit is specifically designed for children as accident trauma is the number one cause of death for children, and the Kiwanis organization has donated more than 300 kits to local firehouses and ambulance corps.

New York District Circle K, represented by Gov. Peony Tse, are the college scholars of the Kiwanis family. They raised the funds for the kit at a Walk-A-Thon event in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. The volunteers comprise elementary school K-Kids, middle school Builders’ Clubs, high school Key Clubs and Circle K college students, as well as local Kiwanis Club members.

Larissa Kostal serves as the president and leader of the Lynbrook Kiwanis Club, which helped to secure the trauma kit for the medical community. Mayor Alan Beach and members of the Fire Department graciously accepted the kit on behalf of Lynbrook EMTs.
