Drunken driver crashes into Lynbrook storefront

Lynbrook police arrested an unidentified woman on Sunday night for allegedly driving while intoxicated and crashing into a storefront.

According to a release from the Lynbrook Fire Department, the woman backed into a vacant storefront on Stauderman Avenue and then drove forward and smashed into a cement stanchion near the Long Island Rail Road station at the corner of Atlantic and Stauderman avenues.

The Lynbrook Police Department and LFD responded to the scene, and the driver of the vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital by a Nassau County police ambulance. The village’s Building Department also responded to the scene.

The LFD did not identify the woman, and LPD Chief Brian Paladino did not return a request for comment.
