An egg-citing Easter egg hunt on the beach in East Rockaway

Nearly 200 children raced around Hewlett Point Beach on April 14 to find 2,000 eggs hidden in the sand at the annual Cape Cod Homeowners’ Association egg hunt on April 14.

The day started with a parade, during which children of all ages followed the Easter Bunny to the beach.

Once there, the Easter Bunny, with the assistance of Debbie Cooney, who helped start the egg hunt, climbed atop a pedestal to start the egg hunt countdown.

The younger children then got their own chance to hunt for eggs, and everyone had a photo opportunity with the guest of honor, the Easter bunny, on the beach.
