Book Discussion: Every Day by David Levithan

Come to the East Meadow Public Library on March 8 at 7 p.m. for a young adult book discussion on Every Day by acclaimed author David Levithan. The book follows protagonist “A,” who, every morning, wakes in a different person’s body, in a different person’s life, learning over the years to never get too attached, until waking up in the body of Justin and falling in love with Justin’s girlfriend, Rhiannon. Join a discussion on this very popular book before the movie hits the big screen.

Kiwanis pancake breakfast

The East Meadow Kiwanis Club will offer a delicious way to help others in need at its pancake breakfast on March 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Guests will receive unlimited juice, pancakes, eggs, sausages, coffee and tea. Proceeds go toward the club's college scholarship and underprivileged children projects. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, students and children. Blues Guitarist Toby Walker

See internationally acclaimed blues guitarist Toby Walker at the East Meadow Library on march 11 at 2 p.m. Walker has been hailed as a roots music “fingerstyle” guitar wizard. The musician has toured America, England, Wales, France, Scotland, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Cyprus, Canada, and Holland. Walker has been featured in the New York Times, the London Sunday Times, the London BBC, Sirius-XM radio and was the first place recipient of the International Blues Challenge Award in the Solo Division, granted by the Blues Foundation in Memphis Tennessee.
