Robert Quinn, longtime firefighter, remembered in East Meadow

Robert Quinn, an East Meadow resident and 30-year member of the Fire Department of New York, died on Sept. 26. 

In addition to his service with the FDNY, Quinn served in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. He was also a professional pitcher for the New York Giants.

He is predeceased by his wife Anita. The two were parishioners at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church in East Meadow for 60 years.

Quinn is survived by his children Carolyn and her husband Mike, Janice and her husband Joe, Robert and his wife Beth, Anne-Marie and her husband Tommy, Kathleen and her husband Garrett and Maryellen and her husband Andrew.

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, Sept. 28 at Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Homes in East Meadow. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church in East Meadow with an interment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Huntington.
