Police: Three men charged in beating outside East Meadow bar

Three men are facing assault charges after beating a 30-year old man outside an East Meadow bar, causing him to lose consciousness, police said.

Jacob Devitt, 20, of Wantagh, Michael O’Leary, of Levittown, and Christopher O’Leary, 23, also of Levittown, were arrested for the assault that occurred on Sept. 29 outside Kiely’s Ale House on Newbridge Road. . According to police, the men punched and kicked the 30-year old before striking his head with a beer bottle. The victim, who lost consciousness, was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a fractured skull and hearing loss, among other injuries.

Devitt was arrested at the scene without incident. Michael O’Leary was arrested on Oct. 23 at his Levittown home and, the following day, Christopher O’Leary was found and arrested in Bellmore.

Both defendants Christopher O’Leary and Michael O’Leary were both charged with second-degree gang assault and were arraigned on Oct. 24. Devitt was charged with second-degree gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon and was arraigned on Sept. 30.
