Lynbrook High School's class of 2020 celebrates prom

Lynbrook High School seniors may have faced many obstacles this year, but they still had a chance to celebrate one of the greatest traditions: their high school prom.

Students dressed to the nines on July 28 and enjoyed an evening of taking pictures, dancing, singing and reminiscing with their friends and peers. Some stayed home and celebrated, while others had socially distant gatherings.

A group of about 25 students enjoyed a dinner cruise aboard the Sapphire Princess in Freeport. Parents also put together a mini prom after the regular prom had to be canceled due to the coronavirus.

After the prom, Friends of Lynbrook hosted a breakfast in Greis Park, which was paid for through yearlong raffle sales for gift certificates, signs and more. Though it was different than usual, the prom was still a night to remember for the class of 2020.
