While there might not be a Memorial Day parade in Freeport this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, band students from Freeport High School still wanted to pay tribute to local veterans, so they united online to play a song in honor of those who served.

Through the leadership of Freeport High School Band Director Michael LaSorsa, students organized themselves virtually to play a song for veterans. Their videos were compiled and edited into one song, “The Washington Post March,”  that they would’ve played at the annual parade.
