William Gaylor elected to third term as District 6 legislator

Incumbent 6th District Legislator William Gaylor, a Republican from Lynbrook, defeated his challenger, Laura Burns, on Tuesday night. At press time on Tuesday at midnight, Gaylor tallied 7,936 votes, while Burns collected 6,674.

District 6 comprises Malverne, Lynbrook, North Lynbrook, Valley Stream and portions of Rockville Centre, Hewlett, Franklin Square and Woodmere. Gayor received 54 percent of the vote, compared to 46 percent for Burns.

"What a great day for Nassau County," Gaylor said at Mirelle’s Continental & Catering in Westbury, which served as Republican headquarters. "This is a great win tonight for Nassau County."
