The Mepham High School Key Club will be dedicating a plaque to commemorate the citizens who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The Bellmore-Merrick community is invited to the dedication ceremony, to take place on Nov. 2 at 2:30 p.m.

The plaque recognizes the 343 members of the Fire Department of New York, the 23 members of New York Police Department, the 37 members of the New York port Authority and the many American citizens who died in the attacks over sixteen years ago.

At the ceremony, the plaque will be placed on the base of the school’s flagpole, next to a plaque from the first graduating class of 1939 and one from the 2012 Key club class, dedicated to alumni who served in the United States Armed Forces.
