Police search for masked shooter

Argument escalated, lead to shooting in broad daylight

Police are searching for the suspect involved in a shooting on Tuesday afternoon.

According to authorities, the incident began when two men got into a verbal dispute in front of the Tropical Jerk and Seafood Restaurant on Grand Ave, just after 2 p.m. When the confrontation escalated one of the men pulled a large black handgun and fired one round into the ground.

At this point, the suspect fled southbound on foot down Grand Avenue. The shooter is described as a black male, thin and approximately six feet tall. He was wearing a multicolored sweatshirt, a skeleton pattern face-mask, red shorts and red sneakers.

No one was hurt during the encounter, and detectives are asking anyone with information on this crime to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
